Sparklo and KPMG in Qatar celebrate sustainability milestone

Since partnering in late 2023, KPMG in Qatar employees have collected nearly 9,000 plastic bottles and aluminium cans, saving over 1,300 kg of CO2 emissions.

Since partnering in late 2023, KPMG in Qatar employees have collected nearly 9,000 plastic bottles and aluminium cans, saving over 1,300 kg of CO2 emissions. Each week, KPMG employees collect, on average, around 300 bottles and cans, and the numbers are growing. This partnership showcases the enthusiasm and commitment of KPMG employees towards sustainable practices and underscores the success of Sparklo’s innovative recycling solutions.

In late 2023, KPMG in Qatar partnered with Sparklo, a global leader in clean technology, to bolster its corporate sustainability efforts. Introducing Sparklomat, an advanced Reverse Vending Machine (RVM), to KPMG's Doha office marks a significant step in this journey. This initiative highlights KPMG's dedication to environmental stewardship and commitment to fostering a sustainable workplace.

The Sparklomat offers KPMG employees and visitors a simple and engaging way to recycle. It integrates seamlessly with the Sparklo mobile app to provide instant rewards for eco-friendly actions. This innovative recycling solution aims to shift workplace culture towards greater environmental awareness and responsibility.

The project was designed to produce 250,000 mt of secondary aluminum annually, including 130,000 mt of 3104 alloy secondary aluminum liquid (ingot) and 120,000 mt of aluminum and aluminum alloy round casting ingots. The construction mainly comprised a scrap pretreatment workshop and a melting and casting workshop.

SMM data showed that the spot price index for 1# petroleum coke in north-east China was 4,863.19 yuan/mt, and the spot price index for 3# petroleum coke in north-west China was 4,174.16 yuan/mt, both remaining stable compared to last Friday. The spot price index for 2# petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 4,254.65 yuan/mt, down 1.71% from last Friday; the spot price index for 3# petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 3,697.31 yuan/mt, down 1.63% from last Friday; and the spot price index for 4# petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 1,934.88 yuan/mt, down 4.44% from last Friday.
