Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 27, autonomous driving solution provider WeRide received the official notification to commence a commercialization pilot for expressway mobility services within the Beijing Municipal High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone (BJHAD).

This approval allows WeRide's autonomous mobility vehicles (Robotaxis) to operate between Beijing Daxing International Airport and the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area and charge fees.

With this milestone, WeRide's Robotaxi service now fully covers the BJHAD, marking a significant step forward in the commercialization of its autonomous driving technology. The public can now use the WeRide Go App to book rides from 242 pick-up and drop-off points within the BJHAD and at Beijing Daxing International Airport. Users can track their vehicle in real-time, view estimated costs, and pay for their trip via WeChat Pay upon arrival.

Since 2023, the BJHAD has seen rapid advancements in autonomous driving, including driverless road testing, commercialization pilots, airport expressway passenger-carrying demonstrations, and autonomous driving tests at Beijing South Railway Station.

WeRide has established itself as a leader in Beijing with the most diverse range of autonomous driving products and applications. The company has launched Beijing's first Level 4 autonomous shuttle route connecting city landmarks and subway stations, the first Level 4 driverless sanitation project, and several commercialized demonstrations for Robotaxi  services.
