Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Recently, PIA Automation and Freudenberg Group entered into a collaboration agreement on high-performance hydrogen fuel cell systems, according to a press release PIA Automation issued on its WeChat account on June 4.

This assembly project will serve Freudenberg's hydrogen fuel pilot plant in Europe, with the cells to roll off the production line initially being used in heavy-load marine scenarios.

It's worth mentioning that in this collaboration, PIA Automation, as an expert in intelligent manufacturing solutions, will co-participate in the development of hydrogen fuel cell products. They aim to accelerate the full automation of the hydrogen fuel cell manufacturing process and advance the large-scale industrialization of fuel cells.

Dr. Cai Quanji, head of PIA Automation's New Energy Storage and Battery business unit, noted that Freudenberg, as a company with a 175-year history, considers power batteries and fuel cells as one of its core new business segments. Freudenberg has more than 25 years of experience in the large-scale industrialization of key fuel cell components. "This cooperation in the new field of hydrogen fuel reflects the high mutual regard for each other's technology and experience. Moving forward, PIA Automation and Freudenberg will deepen their cooperation to expand the application of hydrogen fuel cells in the automotive and other industries."

Additionally, Dr. Cai mentioned that to further integrate and optimize global resources and operational efficiency, PIA Automation formally established five global business units in 2023. The New Energy Storage and Battery unit is focusing on new business areas such as fuel cells and battery recycling. The cooperation with Freudenberg in the hydrogen fuel cell field is a concrete example of PIA Automation's global business strategy and reform measures yielding results.
