Honda Motor's China retail sales drop 22.18% YoY in April

In April 2024, Honda Motor retailed 73,831 vehicles across China, marking a year-on-year decrease of 22.18%, according to the Japanese automaker's official data.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In April 2024, Honda Motor retailed 73,831 vehicles across China, marking a year-on-year decrease of 22.18%, according to the  Japanese automaker's official data.

As for monthly performance of each joint venture, GAC Honda saw a slump of 44.6% with 33,510 vehicles sold in April, while Dongfeng Honda witnessed a 17.3% growth with 40,321 units sold during the same period.

In terms of year-to-date sales, Honda Motor retailed 280,738 vehicles from January to April this year across the world's largest auto market, marking a 10.94% decrease compared to the previous year. GAC Honda's Jan.-Apr. sales reached 141,871, showing a 3.6% year-on-year increase, while Dongfeng Honda sold 138,867 vehicles, marking a 22.17% year-on-year drop.

The hotter-selling models, the Accord, the Civic, and the CR-V, all recorded a monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units in April. Among then, the sales of the CR-V surpassed 15,000 units.

Honda Motor has bolstered its introduction of new energy vehicle models. On April 16, the Japanese automaker unveiled the 烨 (yè) Series ("Ye Series"), an fire new EV(electric vehicle) series dedicated to the Chinese market, including the first set of the Ye Series models, namely the Ye P7 and the Ye S7, as well as the concept model for the second set of the Ye Series, the Ye GT CONCEPT.
