Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 3, Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd. ("NIO Energy") and Wuhan Jidu Automobile Service Co., Ltd., the entity behind Baidu and Geely's cooperative Robocar brand Ji Yue, formally announced the cooperation on interconnecting their charging networks in Wuhan city, Hubei province.

The collaboration will entail Ji Yue gradually integrating into NIO Energy's nationwide network of open charging stations, spanning across various high-traffic scenarios such as expressways, business districts, office districts, residential compounds, scenic spots, and hotels. Subsequently, Ji Yue’s users will be able to access real-time information about NIO's charging piles, including their locations, prices, and current statuses, through the Ji Yue's APP, Robocar mini-program, and energy mini-program. They can efficiently carry out operations such as charging and payment by scanning QR code.

As the automobile brand in China with the largest number of charging piles, NIO currently operates 3,747 charging stations and 21,800 charging piles across 312 cities across the country. Among them, 364 ultra-charging stations and 1,422 ultra-charging piles are deployed along expressways, making NIO the brand with the most ultra-charging spots at expressway service areas nationwide. NIO’s charging piles are open to all new energy vehicle users, with 80% of the electricity serving users of electric vehicle brands other than NIO.

In addition to actively expanding its charging network, NIO also stands as the world's largest intelligent electric vehicle battery swap network operator. As of April 3, NIO has deployed 2,397 battery swap stations nationwide, including 789 on expressways, establishing a comprehensive network across 11 major city clusters.

The collaboration between the two parties will further promote the openness and sharing of new energy vehicle charging networks, enhancing users' charging experiences, said NIO. In the future, NIO and Ji Yue will explore more innovative cooperation in areas such as battery swapping and charging station operations, complementing each other's strengths to provide users with a more convenient and efficient energy replenishment experience.
