Beijing (Gasgoo)- Recently, the collaborative efforts of Baidu's Intelligent Driving Group (IDG) and Geely Auto have come to fruition with the successful mass production of an AI conversational product embedded in the automaker’s Galaxy L6 model.

This marks a significant advancement in the automotive industry, being the first AI in-car dialogue product based on large language model capabilities, the partners claim. The achievement not only elevates the voice interaction experience in smart vehicles but also signifies the commercial breakthrough of large language models in the automotive sector.

Since the launch of Baidu’s ERNIE AI large model in March last year, the IDG smart cabin team has been exploring the reconstruction of cabin model products. After nearly ten months of product design and experiential refinement, Baidu's in-car AI native application, "Xiaodu In-car Smart Assistant," has successfully transitioned from the conceptual stage to scalable commercial deployment.

The AI conversation feature introduced in Geely's Galaxy L6 transforms the primary interaction mode from touch to voice, revitalizing the driving experience. The AI conversation in the Galaxy L6 focuses on four core functionalities are introduced as follow.

Knowledge Q&A: Serving as a core scene function, the AI-enhanced knowledge Q&A empowers the Galaxy L6's voice assistant to become an interactive encyclopedia. It adeptly responds to user queries on various topics, including news, entertainment, and health, offering accurate comprehension of user intent along with personalized responses and suggestions.

Emotionally Intelligent Replies: Beyond basic Q&A, the AI dialogue possesses the capability for emotionally intelligent responses. Tailoring its role based on driving scenarios, the voice assistant can assume different personas for dialogue. For instance, during family trips, it can adopt a child's persona to engage in entertaining conversations, stabilizing the child's emotional state. During long drives, it can emulate a beloved movie character, providing not only entertainment but also unprecedented warmth and care to users.

Trip Planning: Enabling users to efficiently plan self-driving routes and itineraries during trips, the AI conversation feature enhances the convenience of long-distance travel. When driving to a new city, users can quickly obtain information about local weather conditions, recommended attractions, and local customs through AI dialogue. The intelligent assistant not only accurately understands natural language but also interprets context, generating more precise responses, leading to an unparalleled natural, fluid, and contextual dialogue experience for users.

Food Recommendations: Addressing users' dining needs while on the go, the AI dialogue feature enhances the "What to eat" food recommendation function. It recommends high-quality food and restaurants based on user's voice input regarding taste preferences and location information. For example, when driving and looking for a suitable restaurant nearby, users can efficiently and accurately obtain a list of recommended restaurants by providing information such as dining location, taste preferences, and the number of people to the voice assistant.

Data Source Statement: Except for publicly available information, all other data are processed by SMM based on publicly available information, market communication, and relying on SMM‘s internal database model. They are for reference only and do not constitute decision-making recommendations.
