Beijing (Gasgoo)- Recently, Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor sealed a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly cooperation agreement with EP Manufacturing Berhad (EPMB), a major listed manufacturing conglomerate in Malaysia.

This significant partnership marks the official initiation of Great Wall Motor's maiden CKD project in the ASEAN region. The CKD assembly paves the path for Great Wall Motor to establish a stronger local presence, fostering mutual development. Embracing the "Ecosystem Expansion Overseas" philosophy through localized production, this initiative aims to enhance competitiveness in the Malaysian market, offering a broader range of vehicle choices for Malaysian consumers.

As per the strategic cooperation accord, EPMB will locally assemble electric vehicles from Great Wall Motor along with multiple SUV models, driving Malaysia's automotive industry forward and creating more employment opportunities.

Great Wall Motor has already achieved extensive coverage in the ASEAN market and broke its overseas annual sales record, surpassing 300,000 units in 2023. The automaker’s cumulative overseas sales have exceeded 1.4 million units so far. Meanwhile, it has achieved an annual global sales surpassing one million units for eight consecutive years.
