China's November exports of aluminium semis rose both MoM and YoY, with full-year exports projected to hit 5.28 million mt

China's November exports of aluminium semis rose 6.5% MoM and 4.03% YoY to 452,000 mt. January-November exports totaled about 4.831 million mt, down 16% YoY. Exports of aluminium bars, rods, and profiles increased both monthly and annually in November, while aluminium plates, sheets, and strips exports rebounded due to seasonal restocking.

In December, higher overseas aluminium prices raised profits for China's aluminium semis exports, likely yielding a slight YoY increase. Yet, late December Red Sea shipping issues, causing some halts, might impact these exports. SMM predicts 2023's total aluminium semis exports could hit around 5.28 million mt.
