Beijing (Gasgoo)- In a bid to advance safety and productivity in unmanned driving technologies under open-pit coal mining scenario, CHN Energy Investment Group (CHN Energy) recently introduced eleven enterprise standards, including the groundbreaking “Technical Specifications for Autonomous Transport Systems in Open-Pit Coal Mines”.

These regulations mark a significant milestone, offering a comprehensive framework that governs the intricate technology driving unmanned transport operations within open-pit coal mines.

By delineating specific guidelines across truck performance, safety checks, control protocols, communication infrastructure, road-side infrastructure, check-up and maintenance, operation management, safety management, emergency regulation, interface protocol, and more, these standards provide a roadmap directing the future evolution of unmanned driving technology in such critical settings.

CHN Energy's concerted efforts in unmanned transport innovation have borne fruit, with ongoing projects operational in 12 sites across 8 open-pit companies. Presently, a fleet of 163 unmanned trucks operates routinely, showcasing the burgeoning success of intelligent infrastructure initiatives. Notably, this progress has facilitated the seamless transition of over 1,000 workers, significantly elevating safety measures while substantially enhancing operational efficiency.

The release of these standards fills a void in China’s regulations, poised to profoundly impact CHN Energy's unmanned truck projects. Moreover, these guidelines are poised to standardize the deployment of unmanned mining trucks across the coal industry, spearheading transformative strides and fostering high-quality advancements within the sector.

With the approval of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, CHN Energy Investment Group (CHN Energy) was formally established on November 28, 2017, following the merger of China Guodian Corporation and Shenhua Group. The company provides products and services of whole industrial chains including coal, electric power, transportation and chemical industry.
