The operating rates of BF steel mills in China was 89.9% as of November 8, down 1.04 percentage points WoW.

The operating rates of BF steel mills in China was 89.9% as of November 8, down 1.04 percentage points WoW. The daily average pig iron production of sample steel mills was 2.178 million mt, down 23,900 mt WoW. According to SMM, pig iron output will inch up this week amid slower maintenance and possible restart of some BFs. However, given environmental protection-related production limits and possible demand softness, a gain in the operating rates of BFs may fall short of expectations.
