NBS Releases China Official Data On September Crude Steel, Pig Iron And Finished Steel Output

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in September 2023, China's average daily crude steel output was 2.737 million mt, down 1.8% MoM.

SHANGHAI, Oct 19(SMM) – Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in September 2023, China's average daily crude steel output was 2.737 million mt, down 1.8% MoM. The pig iron’s average daily output was 2.3847 million mt, down 0.9% MoM. The average daily steel output was 3.9273 million mt, up 4.5% MoM. In September, China’s crude steel output stood at 82.11 million mt, down 5.6% YoY. Pig iron output totaled 71.54 million mt, down 3.3% YoY. Steel output was 117.82 million mt, up 5.5% YoY. From January to September, China's crude steel output stood at 795.07 million mt, up 1.7% YoY. Pig iron production was 675.16 million mt, up 2.8% YoY. Steel output was 1,028.87 million mt, up 6.1% YoY.
