Jilin: By 2025, about 80 million tons of coal will be transferred from outside the province

“Jilin Province‘s Energy Field Carbon Peak Implementation Plan by 2030” was recently issued, which mentioned that the dual control policy for energy consumption will be strictly implemented, and renewable energy consumption and raw material energy consumption are not included in the total energy consumption control. By 2025, the province’s coal consumption will be controlled within 90 million mt, and its consumption proportion will be reduced to less than 60%. Coal-fired boilers of 35 steam mt per hour and below will be basically eliminated in the built-up areas of cities at the prefecture level and above in key areas. We will steadily promote coal geological exploration, increase coal resource reserves, actively develop coal resources inside the province, promote energy upgrading of existing mines, and orderly advance the construction of new projects. We should seize the period when the country brings port coal into regulation, and actively sign medium and long-term agreements for coal import as needed. By 2025, the province’s coal production will reach 10 million mt and about 80 million mt of coal will be imported from outside the province. Jilin’s coal supply capacity will be fully improved.
