BDI hit its highest level since June

The Baltic Dry Index rose to its highest level since late June on Tuesday as Capesize rates halted a five-day losing streak and Panamax rates extended gains.

The Baltic Dry Index rose to its highest level since late June on Tuesday as Capesize rates halted a five-day losing streak and Panamax rates extended gains. The BDI rose 31 points, or 2.7%, to 1,166 points. The Baltic Capesize Index rose 27 points or 1.7% to 1,597 points. The Baltic Capesize average daily profit increased by $227 to $13,244. The Baltic Panamax Index rose 47 points, or 3.4 percent, to 1,412 points, its highest level since May 11. Panamax daily profits rose $429 to $12,710. The Baltic Exchange Supramax Index rose 27 points to 772 points.
