According to customs data, China silicon metal exports in June 2023 were 48,000 mt, down 2% MoM and down 18% YoY. Exports totalled 288,000 mt from January to June, a decrease of 18% YoY.
Those exports in May went to 48 countries and regions, and the exports to the top ten destinations totalled 41,000 mt, accounting for 85%. Among them, the top five destinations were UAE, Japan, South Korea, India and Malaysia, and the export volume accounted for 64% of the total.
Export orders of silicon metal such as #4402, #3303, etc. were delayed due to market conditions and other factors. Price competition in both the domestic and export market is fierce, troubling export traders.
