North African countries are in scorching weather. Recently, the highest temperature in many parts of Egypt reached 40 degrees Celsius, and the local meteorological department predicts that the highest temperature in the capital Cairo and other places will exceed 42 degrees Celsius in the next few days. Frequently extreme high temperature weather greatly increased the electricity demand from local residents. On July 19, The Cabinet of Egypt quoted Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Madbouly as saying that in order to alleviate the excessive consumption of natural gas caused by excessive electricity consumption, the Egyptian government began to implement power usage reduction, load reduction and regular power outages. According to local residents, the capital Cairo experienced power outages this week. Most of Egypt's electricity is generated by natural gas.
