Japanese Foreign Minister, who is visiting Central and South America, held talks with Foreign Minister in Peru on May 3. The two foreign ministers agreed on a policy of strengthening cooperation between the governments and the people in the economic field, including mineral resources, as Peru is gaining importance as a producer of copper and zinc. The two also confirmed further strengthening of bilateral ties in view of the 150th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.
