SHANGHAI, Apr 25 (SMM) – The average operating rate of lead-acid battery producers across five provinces dipped 0.34 percentage point on the week to 69.35% last week. The off season led to slow inventory digestion at lead-acid battery traders and poor orders at battery makers. In particular, most e-bike battery and automotive battery makers were running at just 60-90% of their capacity in order to contain the speed of inventory build-up. According to preliminary survey by SMM, some medium-sized and large lead-acid battery producers plan to take 1-3 days of break for the upcoming Labour Day holiday. With the Labour Day holiday just a week away, lead-acid battery producers are expected to stock up lead ingots this week.
