SHANGHAI, Apr 23 (SMM) - The P-type solar cell (mainly the PERC solar cell), which has a simple manufacturing process and lower cost, is popular in the PV sector. The average mass production efficiency of PERC solar cells is 23.2%, approaching the theoretical conversion efficiency limit of 24.5%, which means that it is difficult to greatly improve the efficiency of PERC solar cells.
Compared with the traditional P-type solar cell, the N-type solar cell has high conversion efficiency, high bifaciality rate, low-temperature coefficient, almost no light decay, etc. The mainstream N-type solar cell includes TOPCon solar cells, HJT solar cells, IBC solar cells, etc. The TOPCon solar cell has high limit efficiency and low cost of production line transformation; HJT solar cell has high mass production efficiency and a clear cost reduction route; IBC solar cell has higher conversion upper limit but low cost efficiency.
