According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in March 2023, China's average daily output of crude steel was 3.0881 million mt, a record high when compared to same period in history. The average daily output of pig iron was 2.5184 million mt, and the average daily output of finished steel was 4.1 million mt.
In March, China's crude steel output stood at 95.73 million mt, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year; pig iron output was 78.07 million mt, up 7.3% year-on-year; finished steel output was 127.25 million mt, up 8.1% year-on-year.
In the first quarter of 2023, China's crude steel output stood at 261.56 million mt, an increase of 6.1% year-on-year; pig iron output was 219.83 million mt, up 7.6% year-on-year; finished steel output was 332.59 million mt, up 5.8% year-on-year.
