Ample Supply To Weigh On Aluminium Fluoride Prices

SHANGHAI, Apr 17 (SMM) - SMM aluminium fluoride and cryolite prices were stable between 9,000-10,000 yuan/mt and 6,500-7,900 yuan/mt respectively last week.

In terms of raw materials, fluorite prices climbed to 2,800-3,200 yuan/mt, and will stay at highs amid tight supply. Aluminium hydroxide prices went down.

Aluminium fluoride supply increased with the resumption of production, but demand remained slack following the previous output cuts by aluminium smelters in Yunnan. The inflows of wet-process aluminium fluoride intensified market competition.

Production resumptions by aluminium smelters in Sichuan and Guizhou will provide limited boost to aluminium fluoride demand. Abundant supply will leave aluminium fluoride prices vulnerable to decline this week.
