SHANGHAI, Apr 13 (SMM) - Cathode active material (CAM) output varied in March. On the supply side, lithium salt prices plunged, which, coupled with poor demand from power battery and energy storage sectors, aroused a strong wait-and-see sentiment among CAM producers. Orders received by the CAM companies remained poor. Most battery cell makers either cancelled their orders or delayed the battery material pick-up. Therefore, the NMC and LFP material companies generally produced based on their orders to mitigate losses. However, CAM demand from the electronics sector picked up slightly in March, and some downstream companies restocked raw materials on rigid demand, driving up LCO and LMO output.
