On March 20, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Emergency Management issued a special rectification work plan for the safety production of industrial chain enterprises in the new energy industry in Yunnan Province.
A few industrial silicon enterprises shut down their furnaces for maintenance in response to safety production inspections.
In March, 14 industrial silicon enterprises in Yunnan shuttered, involving a total output of 11,000 mt per month. According to SMM statistics, the output of Yunnan in February was 43,550 mt. The shutdowns of SMM survey sample accounted for 25.25% of the total output in Yunnan.
As the prices of industrial silicon have started to stabilise recently, some manufacturers that were originally scheduled to shut down for maintenance at the end of March currently maintain normal production and ensured normal supply under long-term contracts.
As of March 30, the number of RKEFs in Yunnan remaining in production was 38.
