Some Silicon Metal Plants in Yunnan Are Shut Down for Safety Checks

SHANGHAI, Mar 30 (SMM) – On March 20, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Emergency Management issued a special rectification work plan for the safe production of enterprises in the new energy industry chain in Yunnan Province, involving some silicon metal enterprises, who were closed for safety checks.

SMM data shows that 14 silicon metal furnaces in Yunnan were closed in March, leading to a monthly output loss of 11,000 mt, which accounts for 25.25% of the province’s total output last month.
