World Steel Association data showed that in February 2023, the crude steel output of 63 countries in the worldsteel stood at 142.4 million mt, down 1.0% on the year.
In February 2023, Africa's crude steel output was 1.1 million mt, down 11.9% YoY; Asia and Oceania's output was 106.6 million mt, up 3.0% YoY; the EU (27 countries) output was 10.5 million mt, down 12.6% YoY; output in other European countries was 2.7 million mt, down 24.9% YoY; production in the Middle East was 3.5 million mt, up 11.5% year-on-year; output in North America was 8.3 million mt, down 5.5% year-on-year; output in Russia and other CIS countries as well as Ukraine stood at 6.4 million mt, a year-on-year decrease of 21.3%; the output in South America was 3.2 million mt, down 3.1% YoY.
