The earthquake in Turkey and flood in South Africa in February may affect the ferrochrome shipments in the near future.

SHANGHAI, Mar 21 (SMM) - The earthquake in Turkey and flood in South Africa in February may affect the ferrochrome shipments in the near future. Stainless steel output will maintain high amid the upcoming peak season. Chrome ore inventory at ports is expected to stand low. And costs of chrome ore that arrive at Chinese ports in the later period will grow somewhat, thus the short-term chrome ore prices are less likely to fall. However, the prices may drop in the long run since stainless steel mills and ferrochrome manufacturers gain thin profits and the chrome ore consumption will not grow as fast as expected.
