The WPIC said that due to power supply risks and operational challenges, global platinum supply is expected to grow by only 3% in 2023, and the gap between market supply and demand is expected to reach 556,000 ounces, compared with the previously estimated gap of only 303,000 ounces.
In 2022, the global platinum market saw a supply surplus of 776,000 ounces.
