SHANGHAI, Feb 28 (SMM) – In 2023, the total global supply of platinum would be 7,466 koz, and the primary supply produced with ores would be 5,849 koz. The output of the top four producers is estimated at 5,440 koz, accounting for 93.0%.
Among the four leading companies, Anglo American Platinum took the lion’s share, accounting for 34.2%.
Platinum production is expected to increase in the second and fourth quarter, and fall in the first and third quarter, mainly due to the impact of weather and holidays at downstream producers.
In 2023, the total global supply of palladium would be 10,328 koz, and the primary supply produced with ores would be 7,119 koz. The output of the top four producers is estimated at 6,272 koz, accounting for 88.1%.
Among the four leading enterprises, Norilsk should account for the largest proportion with 34.3%.
Palladium production would be relatively stable within the year.
