According to China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), the data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed that China's crude steel output in 2022 stood at 1.013 billion mt, down 2.1% on the year. Compared with 2021, a total of 20 provinces reduced the production in 2022 while 6 provinces increased the production. Among them, the provinces with a production reduction of more than 5% are: Qinghai Province (reduction of 35.04%), Jilin Province (11.82%), Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (10.55%), Hebei Province (5.79%), Zhejiang Province (5.32%), Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (5.18%). Fujian Province and Guangdong Province increased the production by18.15% and 12.38% respectively.
