[SMM PV News] Beijing Targets 2 GW New Renewable Capacity by 2030

Beijing has issued its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), targeting an additional 2 GW of solar and wind capacity during the period and aiming to meet all new electricity demand with clean energy generation. The plan also targets 65 billion kWh of imported clean electricity, supports the deployment of energy storage, including compressed air systems, and promotes integrated solar-storage-charging solutions. It emphasizes the development of perovskite PV and solid-state batteries, and aims to have renewable energy account for 15% of the city's heating area by 2030.
