Metso has secured a contract with Southern Peru Copper Corporation to supply copper refining technology for the Tía María project in Peru. The facility will produce 120,000 tonnes of LME-grade copper cathodes annually, highlighting continued investment in refining capacity.

Ivanhoe Mines Updates Production Guidance for Kamoa-Kakula Copper Project

Ivanhoe Mines has issued its latest production guidance. Its Kamoa-Kakula project is expected to produce 290,000 to 330,000 metric tons of copper in anode form in 2026, and 380,000 to 420,000 metric tons in 2027. This represents a reduction of 90,000 metric tons compared to the previous production guidance of 380,000 to 420,000 metric tons for 2026.
