Hubei's First Kiloton-Level Sodium-Ion Battery Cathode Material Pilot Line Starts Operation
Recently, Hubei Province's first kiloton-level sodium-ion battery composite cathode material pilot line officially commenced operations at Yingcheng Shuanghuan Technology, with the first batch of products successfully rolling off the line. The project, with an investment of nearly 45 million yuan, began construction in July 2025 and has now established a "four-dimensional verification field" covering technical feasibility, reliability, safety, and cost controllability.
The sodium-ion battery composite cathode material developed by Shuanghuan Technology features significantly lower residual alkali content than the industry benchmark, and its discharge specific capacity ranks among the advanced levels of similar products. A 48V30A cylindrical battery equipped with this material achieved a driving range of approximately 100 kilometers in two-wheeler tests, significantly outperforming lead-acid batteries of the same capacity. The material has already been sampled to 18 downstream battery cell clients, with some having completed testing and issued qualified reports.
In the next step, Shuanghuan Technology will advance the construction of the sodium-ion battery industrial park and collaborate with industry chain enterprises to promote the large-scale mass production of sodium-ion battery cathode materials and sodium-ion batteries.
