PKC Makes First Shipment Of PCl₃

Published: Jun 12, 2026 16:49

Korean company PKC announced that it has made its first shipment of 20 tonnes of phosphorus trichloride (PCl₃) produced at its Saemangeum Plant 1. The shipment was supplied as a paid sample for approval to a global top-tier fine chemical materials company specializing in high-performance antioxidants.

The customer plans to use the material as a test feedstock in its antioxidant production process and begin full-scale quality verification.

PKC’s phosphorus trichloride (PCl₃) and phosphorus pentachloride (PCl₅), which are being mass-produced at Saemangeum Plant 1, are key raw materials used in secondary battery electrolytes and fine chemical products.

Hubei Annual 100,000 mt High-Compaction Density LFP Project Launched
Recently, the Jingmen Municipal Government Service and Big Data Administration released filing information that the annual 100,000 mt high-compaction density LFP project of Jingmen Jinquan New Materials Co., Ltd. has completed filing registration. The project has a total investment of 1 billion yuan, is planned to start construction in October 2026, and has a total building area of 60,000 m². It will be constructed in two phases, covering raw material storage and feeding workshops, grinding and spray-drying workshops, sintering workshops, crushing and packaging workshops, product warehouses, nitrogen production workshops, boiler rooms, and supporting environmental protection facilities. Upon completion, it will achieve an annual capacity of 100,000 mt of high-compaction density LFP. Targeting high-compaction density (≥2.6 g/cm³) LFP, the project aims to enhance battery cell energy density and fast charging performance, primarily serving EVE's own battery cell production lines and nearby leading clients. Leveraging Jingmen's national-level lithium battery industry cluster, it forms a closed loop of "phosphate ore → precursor → high-compaction density LFP → battery cell → recycling," with nearby support reducing logistics and raw material costs.
