[SMM Iron & Steel] Indonesia Implements Drastic Coal Quota Cuts for 2026

The Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has officially slashed the 2026 national coal production quota to approximately 600 million tonnes, a significant drop from the 790 million tonnes produced in 2025. This move is intended to support global prices and manage domestic reserves, impacting the cost of power for regional steel producers
