During the survey period (May 26–June 1), the rebar rolling line operating rate in the Central China region remained stable, while the capacity utilization rate edged up.
Specifically, an individual blast furnace steel mill in Hubei resumed production on its rebar rolling line as planned in the previous period, with more operating days this period than last, leading to a slight increase in rebar supply. On the mill inventory front, mill inventories across regions showed some divergence this week. In Hubei, market participants purchased at low prices, and steel mill inventories continued to decline. In Henan, some steel mills saw weaker shipments performance in surrounding areas, resulting in reduced outbound resources compared to before, causing a slight accumulation in mill inventories.
Next period, steel mills in Central China are expected to largely maintain their current production pace, with rebar production remaining stable.
During the survey period (May 26–June 1), the wire rod rolling line operating rate in the Central China region remained stable, while the capacity utilization rate edged down.
Specifically, some blast furnace mills in Hubei shut down one wire rod rolling line in the previous period, with fewer operating days this period than last, leading to reduced wire rod supply. On the mill inventory front, outbound wire rod resources from individual steel mills in Henan decreased slightly, causing mill inventories to shift from destocking to accumulation.
Next period, steel mills in Central China have no production adjustment plans, and wire rod supply is expected to remain stable.
