[Solar: Germany adds around 1.28GW of PV capacity in June]

Published: Jul 16, 2026 10:28
Germany installed around 1.28GW of new PV capacity in June 2026, nearly unchanged from 1.29GW in May and above 1.1GW in June 2025, according to the Federal Network Agency. New PV additions reached 7.39GW in the first half of 2026, slightly below around 8GW in the same period last year. Germany’s cumulative installed solar capacity reached 125.2GW by the end of June. Ground-mounted systems accounted for the largest share of June additions at 572.7MW, while rooftop systems added 493.8MW across nearly 32,400 installations. Plug-in solar devices added another 51.7MW. SMM believes Germany’s monthly PV additions remain elevated, although first-half growth has slowed slightly year on year, with rooftop and ground-mounted connection trends still worth monitoring.

[SMM PV Flash] 2.9% Gain! Tengger Desert Proves the Bifacial Power Generation Strength of Supreme Topcon Modules Again
Recently, the phased test results from the outdoor PV empirical study in the desert of Wuwei, Gansu, conducted by the China General Certification Center, were released. Trinasolar's Vertex N-type TOPCon module completed a six-month full comparative test in the extreme wind-blown sand and large temperature difference environment of the Tengger Desert. Leveraging its high bifaciality and excellent low-irradiance response characteristics, the Vertex TOPCon module achieved stable excess power generation, delivering a 2.90% increase in power generation compared to TBC modules. The standardized, authoritative empirical data verified its full lifecycle power generation advantages and reliability in high-reflectivity scenarios at large desert-Gobi-wasteland bases in northwest China, providing a key reference for the selection of high-efficiency modules in China's desert wind and solar power projects.
