As a core cluster hub of China’s wire and cable industry, Guangdong boasts a complete upstream and downstream industry chain, strong smart manufacturing capabilities, and prominent geographical advantages in foreign trade. It deeply influences the core markets of South China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Southeast Asia, serving as a central hub for China’s wire and cable product exports and industry internationalization, and holding a pivotal strategic position in the nation’s wire and cable industry development landscape.
Currently, China’s wire and cable industry is in a phase of deep transformation and upgrading, where opportunities and challenges coexist. Globally, overseas infrastructure investment continues to ramp up and the new energy power industry is expanding rapidly, providing vast growth potential for Chinese wire and cable enterprises to go global and expand their international footprint. However, industry pain points are increasingly prominent: core raw material prices such as copper and aluminum are subject to wild swings, heightening corporate cost control risks; severe homogenization of industry capacity and intensifying low-price involution are continuously squeezing profit margins, and traditional production and operation models have hit a development bottleneck. Amid this industrial transformation, digitalized management, intelligent upgrades, and lean cost reduction and quality improvement have become key breakthrough paths for wire and cable enterprises to navigate market risks, break away from low-price involution, build core competitiveness, and achieve sustainable long-term development.
To fully leverage the advantages of industrial clustering in South China, precisely address industry pain points, and boost regional wire and cable industry quality improvement, efficiency gains, and iterative upgrading, the was grandly held at the Wyndham Hotel, Guangzhou Design Capital, Guangdong, July 14-15. The conference was hosted by SMM Information & Technology Co., Ltd. (SMM) and Shandong Aisi Information Technology Co., Ltd., co-organized by Guangxi Dasheng Power Equipment Co., Ltd., and strongly supported by Solarabic Mideast New Energy Media and the Guangdong Provincial Association for the Promotion of Industry and Trade Development.
The conference featured a rich agenda with numerous highlights, including a company tour of Guangzhou Panyu Cable Group Co., Ltd., opening remarks, themed presentations by industry guest speakers, and a gala dinner. Leveraging SMM’s entire industry chain data strengths and high-quality upstream and downstream resources both in and outside China, the conference focused on four core areas: accurate market analysis, industrial transformation and upgrading, supply-demand resource matching, and empowerment of go-global channels. It provided comprehensive support to South China wire and cable enterprises in gaining insight into industry development trends, learning from digital and intelligent transformation experiences, integrating premium supply chain resources, and expanding international go-global pathways, thereby consolidating regional industrial synergy and propelling the South China wire and cable industry toward a new stage of high-quality, high-end, and internationalized development.
