According to customs data, China's exports of bismuth trioxide in May 2026 totalled 1,033.611 tonnes, up from 898.429 tonnes in April 2026, representing a modest month-on-month rebound and a return to above the 1,000-tonne threshold.
Looking at the overall trend in export volumes, domestic bismuth oxide exports have shown an upward trajectory on an almost monthly basis since September 2025, indicating that bismuth oxide producers remain enthusiastic about exporting and that overseas demand has been growing notably. Although May exports continued to hold above 1,000 tonnes, the upward trend persists.
Market participants believe that as the third quarter approaches, the market may engage in some pre-stocking ahead of the summer recess, and there is a high probability that China's bismuth trioxide export volumes will continue to increase in June.
