[Solar: HVR Solar to build 1.2GW TOPCon cell factory in India]

Published: Jun 19, 2026 14:57
Indian PV manufacturer and EPC company HVR Solar plans to enter solar cell manufacturing with a 1.2GW annual production facility in Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. The company signed MoUs with several international technology partners during SNEC 2026, including Shenzhen Han’s Photovoltaic Equipment for TOPCon cell equipment, Gentech Technology for chemical and gas utility systems, and Indygreen Technologies for production line integration. HVR said the project will support India’s domestic renewable supply chain, reduce import reliance and create more than 500 direct jobs

Denmark-based European Energy has inaugurated the 148MW Tārgale Solar Park in Latvia. Located in Ventspils Municipality, the EUR 80 million project is expected to generate around 154,550MWh of electricity annually, enough to supply about 60,000 households. The project is supported by a 110MW corporate PPA with Apple, which European Energy says is among the largest single-plant corporate PPAs in the Baltic region. The project was developed with local stakeholders and is co-owned by European Energy and Danish pension fund Sampension.

[Solar: Brunei launches tender for PV systems on government buildings]
Brunei’s Department of Energy has launched a tender for five grid-connected solar installations on government buildings in the Brunei Muara district. The scope covers the design, construction, operation and maintenance of rooftop and carport PV systems, with the selected developer also required to assess the feasible PV capacity at each site. The tender is open to local and international companies, with applications due by June 23. Brunei had around 6MW of cumulative solar capacity by the end of last year and aims to reach 30% renewables in its power mix by 2035.
