Copper Billet Operating Rates Slumped Sharply in February Due to the Chinese New Year Holiday

[SMM Brass Billet Flash] SMM data showed that the overall operating rate of copper billet enterprises in February was 22.78%, down 22.08 percentage points MoM and down 17.64 percentage points YoY. The operating rate of large enterprises in February was 24.11%, medium-sized enterprises 23.32%, and the operating rate of small enterprises was only 13.34%.

[SMM Copper Foil Market] SMM expected the overall operating rate of China’s copper foil enterprises to be 90.24% in March 2026, up 5.97 percentage points MoM and up 18.42 percentage points YoY. [SMM Copper Foil Market] During the Chinese New Year holiday, most copper foil enterprises maintained normal production and deliveries. In February, SMM copper foil finished product inventories stood at 3.24 days, down 0.18 days MoM; days of raw material inventories were 4.38 days, down 0.29 days MoM.
