Chile's Zinc Concentrate Exports Decline 1% MoM, 35% YoY in January 2026

[ SMM Express ] Recently, SMM conducted a series of surveys on the pre-holiday shutdown situation of domestic zinc oxide enterprises, involving 20 zinc oxide enterprises with a total annual capacity of 479.6 kt. The results showed that the average shutdown days in the industry were 21.35 days, an increase of 1.25 days compared with the same period last year.

[SMM Express] Recently, SMM communicated with 20 domestic die-casting zinc alloy enterprises regarding their holiday arrangements before the festival. The combined annual capacity of these enterprises reached 829,000 mt, with an average holiday duration of 23.1 days, an increase of 1.1 days compared to the same period last year.

[Peru Zinc Concentrate Exports] According to Peru Customs statistics, Peru exported 168,600 mt in physical content of zinc concentrates in December 2025, down 19% MoM. In the January-December period, Peru's cumulative zinc concentrate exports totaled 2.1562 million mt, up 21.5% YoY.
