On March 7, in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia, Minmetals Resources, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation, reached an agreement with Dundee Precious Metals Ins. to acquire the Tsumeb smelter in Namibia. The acquisition target is 98% of the issued shares of Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb Holding (Pty) Ltd. (referred to as "DPMTH") held by DPM, with a transaction price of $49 million in cash. The main asset of DPMTH is the Tsumeb smelter located in Namibia. This acquisition will accelerate the development of copper resources layout.
