In order to implement the relevant provisions of the regulations on the Administration of pollution discharge permits and actively fulfill the main responsibilities of the enterprise, Hefei Copper Guan Electronic Copper foil Company comprehensively deepened the process management of pollution discharge permits a few days ago, and the completion rate of self-monitoring reached 98.98%. Successfully completed the annual report of the enterprise in 2021.

"there are many regulations and technical documents related to environmental protection, such as water, gas, soil, and so on. Sometimes enterprises often fail to find a grasp on environmental protection, and there is also some confusion." Lu Yan, head of the security department of the company, said. According to Lu Yan, after the promulgation of the regulations, the environmental protection responsibilities of enterprises have been clarified, and the types, concentration, and emissions of pollutants discharged by pollutant discharge enterprises are all reflected in one pollutant discharge permit, reducing multiple management links. "if the implementation is in place, it will reduce a lot of trouble."

"We have produced a knowledge manual on sewage permits and shared them with colleagues who have not participated in the training, so that they can also understand the relevant norms." Lu Yan said. The company has renewed its pollution permits several times before, and after the implementation of the new regulations, all of them have been integrated into one card, with a 133-page copy, recording most of the information related to environmental protection.

"the sewage permit is a thread, and the systems of the enterprise are scattered beads, and the next thing to do is to string them together." Zheng Xiaowei, the person in charge of the company, believes that in environmental protection management, enterprises should organically combine the source of production and discharge with treatment links to carry out overall management. In 2021, Hefei Copper Crown Electronic Copper foil Co., Ltd. vigorously implemented the "three full coverage" projects of environmental protection management.

Pollution source monitoring is fully covered. The company has invested more than 300,000 yuan to set up three sets of micro water quality monitoring stations and sewage treatment process early warning platform system. By setting the upper and lower limits of the monitoring parameters, the drug feeding pump can be realized automatically, and Synchronize can realize the real-time viewing of monitoring factors, standard values, concentration, monitoring date and other information at multiple monitoring points, which improves the monitoring efficiency and reduces the labor cost.

The network of operation and maintenance is fully covered. The company upgraded the on-line monitoring equipment, added two new proportional automatic water quality sampling machines, upgraded the system automatic sample retention, standard liquid verification, collection network docking and wireless transmission modules, and added the Mini Program reporting function of the pollution source mobile terminal, which achieved the pollution source online monitoring operation and maintenance of all network management, and ensured that the collection and transmission of automatic monitoring data met the requirements of relevant standards.

Full coverage of video surveillance. The company has purchased new video surveillance hardware equipment, and the monitoring system covers 10 places and areas, such as the operation place of pollution source treatment facilities and discharge outlets of pollution sources, and the video surveillance system is connected to the control room of the service terminal through the network. to achieve all-weather, full-process remote dynamic monitoring of the operation of environmental protection facilities, environmental protection operation and management is more convenient and efficient.

In 2021, Hefei Tongguan Electronic Copper foil Co., Ltd. won the title of "Environmental Integrity Enterprise" in Anhui Province, which has been awarded this title for two consecutive years. In the next step, the company will promote the linkage management of fixed pollution source emissions and emission permits, and explore the linkage between production capacity, sewage discharge processes, environmental monitoring, energy conservation, consumption reduction, and total amount control with pollution discharge permits, and at the same time, explore the relationship between emission permits and emissions trading, sort out and analyze emission indicators, formulate corresponding countermeasures, and promote the transformation of enterprise development to a green and sustainable growth mode.

This week, against the backdrop of fluctuating upward copper prices, the secondary copper industry chain showed a complex situation in which extremely tight upstream raw material supply coexisted with persistent negative margins for downstream finished products. In the secondary copper rod market, SMM data showed that the operating rate fell further to 5.45% this week, down 0.38 percentage points MoM and 25.43 percentage points YoY

Chile's Water Crisis Threatens Atacama's Copper and Lithium Mining Amid 14-Year Drought
Chile’s most pressing crisis at present is the issue of water resources. The Atacama Desert in Chile is one of the driest regions in the world and also the core area for copper and lithium ore extraction. The local area has experienced a drought for as long as 14 years, and reservoir storage has fallen to only about 30%. For miners, water resources are not a secondary issue, but an indispensable key production factor in such processes as ore processing, dust suppression, and equipment cooling. The decline in ore grade has further exacerbated the predicament

Trump Adjusts Metal Tariffs, Applies 50% Rate to Consumer Prices Under Section 232, Details Unclear
US President Trump adjusted the national security tariffs on imports of steel, aluminum, and copper, lowering the tariff rates on derivative products made from these metals, streamlining compliance procedures, and preventing the declared value of imports from being understated.A senior Trump administration official said that, under a proclamation signed by Trump, the US would continue to maintain a 50% import tariff on imports of metal commodities such as steel, aluminum, and copper pursuant to Section 232 of the Trade Act of 1974, but would apply this rate to the price paid by US consumers. It is currently unclear how the selling price—and the resulting tariffs—would be determined.
