China to grant 5G commercial-use licenses: MIIT

SHANGHAI, Jun 3 (SMM) – China will soon grant 5G licences for commercial use, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) on Monday June 3. 

Stocks of 5G-related companies, including Shaanxi Broadcast & TV Network and Wutong Holding Group jumped after the news release on the website of MIIT. 

Following the US and South Korea, the UK joined the fray with the launch of its 5G network on Thursday May 30.
