Operating rates at lead-acid battery makers rose sharply this week

Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces gained 7.14 percentage points on the week to 75.6% as of Friday March 5.

SHANGHAI, Mar 5 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces gained 7.14 percentage points on the week to 75.6% as of Friday March 5.

Production at lead-acid battery makers improved this week as more workers returned to work. Producers of e-bike batteries recovered rapidly amid moderate consumption after CNY, while demand for automotive batteries was tepid. Export orders were limited.
