SMM Network News: after nearly 30 years of history, the domestic air-conditioning industry has entered a period of stock competition from the incremental stage of rapid development since 2019. According to the total data of (AVC), the retail sales of domestic air conditioners in 2019 were 197.9 billion yuan, down 1.6% from the same period last year. At the beginning of 2020, the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 made the originally depressed air conditioning market even worse. From January to October 2020, retail sales of domestic air conditioners totaled 130.5 billion yuan, down 22.8% from the same period last year, and retail sales of 43.92 million units were down 12.8% from the same period last year. The occurrence of the epidemic has also accelerated the upgrading of the concept of domestic consumption. With the further increase of consumers' attention to the health of indoor air, the heat of healthy air-conditioning products with the functions of fresh air, purification, self-cleaning and high temperature sterilization has increased.

After the arrival of the epidemic, the technology of cleaning and sterilizing functions of air-conditioning products has been upgraded rapidly.

In February, Haier Air conditioning issued a 56-degree C sterilization air conditioner. According to a third-party test report, Haier 56C sterilization air conditioner has a self-cleaning dust removal rate of 99.7%, a self-cleaning sterilization rate of 99.4%, and an evaporator temperature of more than 56 ℃. According to Oviyun (AVC) online monitoring data, Haier 56C sterilized air conditioning brand accounted for 64.7% of the internal retail volume in the first three quarters of 2020.

It is estimated that the retail sales of domestic health air conditioning products for the whole of 2020 are 128.7 billion yuan, down 6.7 percent from the same period last year, and the retail volume is 43.08 million units, an increase of 3.8 percent over the same period last year. Retail sales accounted for 81.1%, an increase of 11.4 percentage points over the same period last year.
