Sales of electric cars in Europe surpassed those in China in July and may exceed 1 million this year.

According to foreign media reports, Europe led China in electric vehicle sales in July. The move comes after European countries such as France and Germany increased government subsidies for electric cars to stimulate demand for cars that have been hard hit by the epidemic.

According to a report by Matthias Schmidt, an independent automotive analyst in Berlin, about 500000 electric vehicles were registered in Europe in the first seven months of this year (including about 269000 pure electric vehicles and about 231000 plug-in hybrid vehicles), surpassing sales of about 14000 electric vehicles in China.

In addition to helping carmakers recover from the epidemic, incentives across Europe have also helped carmakers strive to meet stricter emission standards. By contrast, although China's auto market is recovering, the government is reducing support and subsidies for new energy vehicles to encourage automakers to compete on their own.

Sales of pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids in Europe are likely to exceed 1 million this year as Tesla increases delivery in Europe and Volkswagen increases sales of its all-electric car ID.3 in Europe, Schmidt said.

Schmidt's view coincides with Zeng Yuqun, chairman of Ningde Times, a Chinese battery maker. Zeng Yuqun attended the 12th China Automobile Blue Book Forum on August 12, during which he said that in the first half of the year, Europe's new energy market grew by 52% compared with the same period last year, while China's new energy market fell by 44%. Between rising and falling, China is likely to be overtaken by Europe.

"I myself predict that the sales of electric cars in Europe as a whole will surpass those in China this year, and China's position as the world's largest electric vehicle market will be taken away by Europe." Zeng Yuqun also called on policy makers and consumers in the auto industry to "not get up early in the morning and catch up with the evening collection, because we have finished all the infrastructure and people are starting to sell well".

"2020 (second) China Automotive New Materials Application Summit Forum"

It was solemnly held in Shanghai from September 17 to 18.

During the reform period of the "four modernizations of the automobile", intelligent network connection, new energy, lightweight and intelligent manufacturing entered the field of the automobile industry, and the automobile era was reinterpreted. The surging changes require the industry to continue to integrate and innovate, and quickly promote the development rate of automobile enterprises. With the emergence of self-driving and intelligent cars, Internet companies, which are not active in the automotive field, have more opportunities to show their talents; the double points policy is becoming an important driving force for the development of China's new energy vehicle industry; in the face of environmental constraints, car companies speed up the application of advanced lightweight components and technologies to achieve vehicle weight loss. With the continuous promotion of the strategies of "Industrial 4.0" and "made in China 2025", intelligent manufacturing has become a new challenge of upgrading and transformation.

Under the guidance of the Shanghai Economic and Informatization Commission and the Shanghai Federation of Industrial economy, in order to accelerate the application of automobile lightweight and product lines, the Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, together with Shanghai Automotive Engineering Society, Suzhou Die casting Technology Association and Shanghai Nonferrous Network, jointly held the "2020 (second) China Automotive New Materials Application Summit Forum". Jointly discuss material solutions, co-casting automobile industry chain green development closed loop, and strive to build an excellent communication and cooperation platform for the whole automobile industry chain, and lead the creation of advanced automobile industry clusters.
