At the 125th press conference on the prevention and control of the new coronavirus pneumonia in Beijing this afternoon, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said clearly that the epidemic in Beijing has been brought under control.

Wu Zunyou said that newly diagnosed cases every day are not equal to new infections. According to the analysis of the time of onset, most of them showed symptoms a few days ago, and there is still some time from infection to onset. So the 21 people who were diagnosed yesterday were infected before June 12.

If the time of onset of the patient is on a curve, the peak occurs on June 13.

Will there be no patient report tomorrow? No, there will be more. These cases are all found in previous cases of infection. It is not a new infection, but there will be fewer and fewer cases.

The number of people who are infected by selling aquatic products is relatively large.

Why did new cases occur after 56 days of no cases in Beijing, and why did they occur in wholesale markets like Xinfa? The joint investigation team also conducted environmental samples in many parts of the market, and the sampling results were analyzed together with the case results, and the places with more serious pollution were aquatic products and beef and mutton halls. At the end of last year, Wuhan South China Seafood Market was the first place where unexplained pneumonia broke out. At that time, it was suspected that the market was selling wild animals, which was aimed at wild animals, because the wild animals in that market were together with seafood.

The results of the survey in Beijing are related to those in Wuhan and provide a direction for us to solve the mystery. Preliminary analysis shows that the low temperature and high humidity of seafood may be suitable for the survival of the virus.
