SHANGHAI, Mar 24 (SMM) – LONGi Green Energy Technology said on Monday that it plans to invest 7 billion yuan to build three mono-crystalline-related projects, which will expand its capacity by 25GW.
A mono solar cell project with annual capacity of 10GW, will be located in Xi’an of Shaanxi province, and the project Phase 1, of 7.5GW, is expected to start operations in June 2020, according to the statement from the Xi’an-based solar energy company.
The company plans to build a 10GW mono ingot project in Tengchong of Yunnan province, and a 5GW mono module assembly project in Jiaxing of Zhejiang province. The two projects are both expected to come on stream by the end of this year.
LONGi Green Energy Technology, formerly Xi'an Longi Silicon Materials Corporation, is one of the six major Chinese manufacturers of photovoltaics and a developer of solar projects, according to Wikipedia.
