SHANGHAI, Mar 18 (SMM) – China's output of copper cathode in January-February gained 6.3% year on year, and stood at 1.34 million mt, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Friday March 15.
In the first two months of the year, daily production of copper cathode averaged 22,712 mt, down 16.1% from December's 27,065 mt.
NBS data also showed that domestic output of zinc slid 8.2% on a yearly basis, to 851,000 mt in January-February, while production of lead increased 32.6%, to 923,000 mt, and alumina output jumped 12.3%, to stand at 12.01 million mt.
The NBS usually does not release data for January and February separately due to the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday in February.
