India Containerized Shredded Scrap import prices stay stable; Plastic Scrap prices show mixed trend

India containerized shredded scrap import average prices stayed stable during the week ended October 28, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed a mixed trend

NEW DELHI (Scrap Register): India containerized shredded scrap import average prices stayed stable during the week ended October 28, while India's major plastic scrap prices on the Scrap Register Price Index showed a mixed trend.

Indian containerized scrap import prices remained flat during the week at $232 a ton Nhava Sheva port. 

Global prices of scrap have seen a rise the week and hence this could be expected to filter through to the Indian market next week, according to a market participant. September saw a 17% m-o-m decrease in containerized scrap imports into India.

The major plastic scrap commodities showed a mixed trend on Scrap Register Price Index during the week. The plastic scrap commodities like ABS(bayr), Acrylic, C.P.W, HD Blowing, HD Moulding (Colour), Hips(Baff) and LLDP Blowing declined during the week.

The scrap commodities like PVC pest grade and PVC resin desi traded up, while API remained steady during the week.
